Happy Holidays!
I am honored to be part of this year’s Oriental Trading Holiday Cheer Squad. I am excited to share my first project- I was asked to share some DIY Christmas decor ideas using their products from their website. I must say, Oriental Trading has way more than party supplies – they have DIY and crafty supplies as well as a huge assortment of holiday decor. Today I will share with you a few of my favorite items and how I incorporated them into my ELF™ movie inspired mantel and tree decorations. My family loves this movie and always naming quotes, with one of our favorites being “We elves try to stick to the four main food groups.”
I was excited to try something new and create this fun and cheery space for the holidays.
In past years I have not had luck finding ELF ™ ornaments so this year I decided to make my own, I made the Buddy the Elf ornament using a plate from the party pack. I simply cut out the shape and placed on the tree.
I made the Buddy hat using a styrofoam cone, hand cut felt and a glue gun. I made traditional red/white as well as candy corn colored candy canes too. I added come candy lollipops in assorted colors, too.
The syrup bottle is made from assorted paper using my Cricut Machine.
The cute Narwhal is a wooden ornament I painted using various paints.
One of the key food groups, candy corn, was made using a styrofoam cone and paints. So simple yet so cute!
I had so much fun designing the mantel and implementing fun and cheerful colors. I painted the wooden beads to match the color scheme. I painted the marquee letters and they are so fun at nighttime.
My son helped make the candy corn tree using a styrofoam cone and some leftover Halloween candy. I painted the wooden 3D trees in various colors using paint. I incorporated a cute sisal tree too.
I was super excited to find unfinished wooden plank signs on the Oriental Trading’s website. I painted mine with red paint, added some vinyl using my Cricut Machine then hung it using some plaid ribbon.
The wooden nutcracker was painted red, and I added another fun tree using a styrofoam cone and Christmas pom-pom trim.
I hope you enjoyed my ELF™ movie inspired mantel and tree decorations. There’s more holiday decor and crafts to come! Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter to receive email updates and more inspiration! And follow me on Instagram for more fun!
